A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY BOARD TO EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE WITH CERTAIN UNITS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR THE OPERATION OF A POLICE RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

WHEREAS, the County of DuPage (County), local municipalities, and other county and local governmental entities have cooperated to develop a modern, standardized, and integrated justice information system known as the DuPage Justice Information System ("DuJIS;") and
WHEREAS, a unified police report management system (PRMS) is a significant component of DuJIS; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the County and local municipalities have negotiated a template for an intergovernmental agreement to provide for the continued operation, funding, and replacement of a PRMS system. Said template is attached and incorporated into this Resolution as an Exhibit; and
WHEREAS, various officers and agencies of or affiliated with DuPage County, including the State's Attorney, and the Sheriff, desire to participate in and utilize the PRMS System on the same terms and conditions as municipal members; and
WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the PRMS Oversight Committee hereby requests that the County Board of the County of DuPage enter into intergovernmental agreements consistent with the provisions of the template attached as an Exhibit to this Resolution with various municipalities in order to provide for the PRMS component of DuJIS on its behalf; and further
BE IT RESOLVED, that the PRMS Oversight Committee hereby requests that the County Board of the County of DuPage enter into agreements with various officers and agencies of or affiliated with DuPage County, including the State's Attorney and the Sheriff, that are consistent with the provisions of the template attached as an Exhibit to this Resolution; and further
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Clerk transmit a copy of this resolution to the Chair of the County Board forthwith.
