RESOLUTION DECLARING EQUIPMENT, INVENTORY, AND/OR PROPERTY ON EXHIBIT A, PURCHASED BY THE EMERGENCY TELEPHONE SYSTEM BOARD OF DU PAGE COUNTY AS SURPLUS EQUIPMENT

WHEREAS, the DuPage County Emergency Telephone System Board (“DU PAGE ETSB”) is an emergency telephone system board, established pursuant to Section 15.4 of the Local Government Emergency Telephone System Act, 50 ILCS 750/15.4 (“Act”); and
WHEREAS, the DU PAGE ETSB is authorized and empowered, pursuant to Section 15.4 (b) of the Act to plan, implement, upgrade, and maintain an Emergency 9-1-1 System for the citizens of the County of DuPage and portions of Cook, Kane and Will counties; and
WHEREAS, DuPage County is the ultimate owner of property purchased with 9-1-1 surcharge funds; and
WHEREAS, the 356 items on Attachment A were purchased in 2011 for a combined cost of $2,090,788.00, with 9-1-1 surcharge for use by the ETSB in its 9-1-1 DuPage Emergency Dispatch Interoperable Radio System (DEDIRS) are fully depreciated as of November 30, 2021. Further, the MCC7500E workstation items on Attachment B were purchased in 2017 for a combined cost of $2,636,581.00, with 9-1-1 surcharge for use by the ETSB in its Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), and are fully depreciated as of 2022; and
WHEREAS, the individual items on Attachment A and Attachment B are still serviceable but have been replaced as part of the end of life/end of support equipment replacement schedules; and
WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 System Manager recommends DU PAGE ETS Board declare the items on Attachment A and Attachment B as Surplus Items to allow for disposal, reassignment, or sale of such personal property by the County of DuPage. Said transfer to be accomplished by separate resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the ETS Board hereby declares the items on Attachment A and Attachment B as Surplus Items.
