IACAA EMPLOYMENT BARRIER REDUCTION PILOT PROGRAM PY27

WHEREAS, the County of DuPage finds that the need to appropriate said additional funds creates an emergency within the meaning of the Counties Act, Budget Division (55 ILCS 5/6-1003).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the DuPage County Board that Agreement WHEREAS, the County of DuPage has been notified by the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies (IACAA) that grant funds in the amount of $57,500 (FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/DOLLARS) are available to be used to fund services that are designed to reduce barriers to gaining employment and assisting customers in securing and maintaining employment; and
WHEREAS, to receive said grant funds, the County of DuPage must enter into Agreement No. FCSFG05509 with the IACAA, a copy of which is attached to and incorporated as part of this resolution by reference (ATTACHMENT II); and
WHEREAS, no additional County funds are required to receive this funding; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this grant does not add any additional subsidy from the County; and
No. FCSFG05509 (ATTACHMENT II) between DuPage County and the IACAA is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the DuPage County Board that the additional appropriation on the attached sheet (ATTACHMENT I) in the amount of $57,500 (FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND NO/DOLLARS) be made to establish the IACAA Employment Barrier Reduction Pilot Program PY27, Company 5000 - Accounting Unit 1766, for the period October 27, 2026, through May 31, 2027; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the DuPage County Board that the Director of Community Services or the Director of Community Development is approved as the County’s Authorized Representative; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should state funding cease for this grant, the Human Services Committee shall review the need for continuing the specified program and related head count; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that should the Human Services Committee determine the need for other funding is appropriate, it may recommend action to the County Board by resolution.
