PROFESSIONAL DESIGN ENGINEERING SERVICES

WHEREAS, the DuPage County Board heretofore adopted Resolutions DT-P-0121-20 on April 28, 2020, DT-P-0121A-20 on March 23, 2021 DT-P-0121B-20 on March 8, 2022, and DT-P-0121C-20 on August 9, 2022, which approved a Local Public Agency Engineering Services Agreement between the County of DuPage and Knight E/A, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as CONSULTANT), to provide Professional Design Engineering Services for improvements to CH 3/Warrenville Road over the East Branch of the DuPage River, Section 14-00124-04-BR (hereinafter referred to as the AGREEMENT); and

WHEREAS, the current cost of said contract to the County of DuPage, by and through the Division of Transportation is $465,821.10; and

WHEREAS, it has been previously determined that additional retaining walls were required to be constructed to minimize property acquisition and allow for adequate space to accommodate necessary drainage improvements as a result of the new bridge and raising the roadway profile; and

WHEREAS, one of the proposed retaining walls will need to be relocated in order to avoid additional right-of-way and best ensure a 2024 construction letting; and

WHEREAS, the redesign of the retaining wall and relocation of a portion of the watermain were not in the original scope of the contract; and

WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee recommends a change order to increase the contract in the amount of $67,650.00 resulting in an amended contract total amount of $533,471.10.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DuPage County Board adopt this Amendment to Resolution DT-P-0121C-20, issued to Knight E/A, Inc., to increase the contract in the amount of $67,650.00, resulting in an amended contract total amount of $533,471.10, an increase of 14.52%, a cumulative increase of 34.78%; and

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that four (4) original copies of this amending Resolution and AGREEMENT be sent to the STATE and one (1) original copy of this amending Resolution and AGREEMENT be sent to the CONSULTANT, by and through the DuPage County Division of Transportation.
