TO LORIG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
CH 48/ILLINOIS PRAIRIE PATH-ELGIN BRANCH
VOLUNTEER BRIDGE DECK REPLACEMENT

resolution
WHEREAS, the County of DuPage is authorized and empowered to construct, repair, improve and maintain County and/or township roads, bridges, and appurtenances; and
WHEREAS, the County of DuPage has published a contract proposal for the CH/48 Illinois Prairie Path-Elgin Branch Volunteer Bridge Deck Replacement, Section 22-00316-02-BR, setting forth the terms, conditions, and specification (a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference); and
WHEREAS, the budget for the 2026 fiscal year provides for the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and appurtenances; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received in compliance with the contract proposal:

Lorig Construction Company $242,695.00
MYS Incorporated $323,045.00
Alliance Contractors, Inc. $407,812.25
Copenhaver Construction, Inc. $420,079.00
; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is in the best interest of the County of DuPage to award a contract to Lorig Construction Company for their submission of the lowest responsible bid in the amount of $242,695.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a contract in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications set forth in said contract proposal be, and is hereby awarded to Lorig Construction Company, 250 East Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60018; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this contract is subject to the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.), and as such, not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all laborers, workers, or mechanics performing work under this contract; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the DuPage County Chair is hereby authorized and directed to sign on behalf of the COUNTY, and County Clerk is hereby authorized to attest the aforesaid contract with Lorig Construction Company.
