APPOINTMENT OF ACTING DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION

WHEREAS, the Director of Transportation position for the County of DuPage will be vacated effective December 15, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., due to the retirement of the current Director of Transportation, Christopher Snyder; and

WHEREAS, the County is undertaking a thorough recruitment for a new Director of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Transportation must be a county employee, 605 ILCS 5/5-202.1; and

WHEREAS, the County Board Chair may appoint any county employee who is a competent person as acting director whenever a vacancy exists until such vacancy is filled, 605 ILCS 5/5-204.1 and 5/5-202.1; and

WHEREAS, Deborah A. Conroy, Chair, DuPage Couty Board, appoints William Eidson, DuPage County Engineer, as Acting Director of Transportation in accordance with 605 ILCS 5/5-204.1 and 5/5-202.1.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Board of DuPage County that effective December 15, 2023, at 4:31 p.m., in addition to serving as County Engineer, William Eidson shall serve as Acting DuPage County Director of Transportation until the vacancy for the Director of Transportation is filled; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this “NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT” attached hereto be made a part of this Resolution.
