APPOINTMENT OF DAVID PILESKI
TO THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS TRANSIT AUTHORITY (NITA)
resolution
WHEREAS, Public Act 104-0457 creates the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) to provide oversight for transit issues in the Collar County region; and
WHEREAS, Public Act 104-0457 also states that the County's existing appointments to the Regional Transit Authority, Commuter Rail Board (Metra), and Pace Board expire on Sept. 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Chair of the DuPage County Board, with advice and consent of the County Board, has one appointment to the NITA Board, who will also serve on the Pace Board, pursuant to 70 ILCS 3615/3.01; and
WHEREAS, members must be appointed within 120 days of the Act's effective date, June 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Deborah A. Conroy has submitted to the County Board her appointment of David Pileski as the DuPage County representative on the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) Board of Directors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the DuPage County Board that the County Board does hereby advise and consent to the appointment of David Pileski to serve as a Director of the Northern Illinois Transit Authority and Pace Board; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of office for this appointment shall commence on September 1, 2026, and expire September 1st, 2031; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the "Notice of Appointment" be attached hereto and made a part of this resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit certification of this appointment to the office of the Secretary of State as prescribed in 70 ILCS 3615/3.01; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk transmit a certified copy of this resolution to David Pileski.
