WHEREAS, the DuPage County Board heretofore adopted Resolution DT-P-103A-23 on August 27, 2024 and DT-R-0103-23 on November 14, 2023 which approved a Professional Services Agreement between the County of DuPage (hereinafter "COUNTY") and Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. (hereinafter "CONSULTANT") for Professional Preliminary Engineering Services ("AGREEMENT") for a multi-use path along East Branch DuPage River from Butterfield Road (IL 56) to the Illinois Prairie Path (IPP), Section # 23-00002-08-BT (hereinafter referred to as "PROJECT"); and
WHEREAS, the current cost of the PROJECT to the County of DuPage, by and through the Division of Transportation, is $1,626,429.00 (County to be reimbursed $1,200,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the current cost for the PROJECT should have read $1,626,426.00, due to a scrivener's error; and
WHEREAS, after coordination with the various municipalities, stakeholders, and through the public involvement process, the County has determined that an expanded Phase I preliminary engineering scope is necessary to evaluate the range of alternatives that could provide the desired level of recreational connections to the surrounding neighborhoods and community and regional destinations in order to maintain eligibility for future federal funding; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee recommends a change order to increase the COUNTY's share of the preliminary engineering contract in the amount of $794,991.00 with an amendment to the AGREEMENT ("AMENDMENT"), the exhibit C an...
