RESOLUTION ADOPTING FOIA POLICIES, RULES & REGULATIONS

WHEREAS, the County of DuPage is a public body as defined by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1, et seq.); and
WHEREAS, Section 3(h) of the Act provides that each public body may promulgate rules and regulations pertaining to the availability of records and the procedures to be followed to obtain those records; and
WHEREAS, the County of DuPage recently debuted the JustFOIA software system, designed to streamline the receipt and processing of FOIA requests submitted to the County; and
WHEREAS, the existing policies, practices, rules and regulations required revision to address the operational changes implicated by adopting a new FOIA software system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the DuPage County Board adopts the policies, rules, and regulations attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the policies, rules and regulations attached as Exhibit A shall take immediate effect; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the DuPage County Clerk is directed to send a copy of these rules, policies, and regulations to each countywide elected official for their consideration.
