CHAIR REMARKS - CHAIR EVANS  
Chair Lucy Evans spoke of the tragedy that occurred over the weekend in Plainfield, Illinois. She  
emphasized the important role that police, emergency dispatchers, paramedics, the judicial  
system and the coroner's office all play when crimes such as this take place and stressed that  
everyone involved in public safety is an active participant in a system that works to protect all.  
Chair Evans conveyed her condolences to the victim's family, friends and the community at  
large. She then asked for a moment of silence to honor the victim.

Sentinel Offender Services, LLC - Contract expiration date has been extended from  
October 29, 2023, to January 31, 2024, due to covering the invoices beyond the contract  
original ending date. There is no change in the contract total. (Probation and Court  
Services)  
Member Yeena Yoo asked if this contract was going to be renewed next year. Sharon  
Donald, Finance Manager with Probation and Court Services, responded that there are  
plans to renew this contract. She stated that the new contract will be brought to the Board  
for approval sometime in January 2024.

NEW BUSINESS  
Member Dawn DeSart informed the Committee that a vigil for the victim of the past weekend's  
tragedy in Plainfield is being held tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the Prairie Activity and Recreation  
Center located at 24550 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield.  
Member Jim Zay spoke of the Safe Harbor Children's Waiting Room at the courthouse. He feels  
that this is a valuable asset, but requested more specifics regarding the funding. Member Liz  
Chaplin and Policy and Program Manager Jason Blumenthal both indicated that discussions are  
underway regarding this project and the Committee will be provided with funding information at  
a later time.

With no further business, Member Yoo moved, seconded by Member Childress to adjourn the  
meeting at 8:07 AM. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
