DISCUSSION
10.A. DuPagePads Funding Request
April Redzic, President & CEO of DuPagePads, thanked the committee for their support last
winter and provided an update to the committee with their needs for this winter season. The cost
to lease a space is greater than the cost of paying for hotel rooms, and churches are not allowed
to shelter people for more than one or two nights at a time. DuPagePads is seeking funding for 60
hotels rooms over 100 days, staff to have the rooms supervised, weekly food delivery from
Loaves & Fishes, and transportation to get people from the access center to the hotel rooms.
DuPagePads would also like to extend their access center hours since more people are showing
up to police departments and libraries without a place to stay. In total, DuPagePads is asking for
$342,090 from the County. By a show of hands, committee members gave their consensus to
move forward with placing this item on a future agenda for approval.
Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Martynowicz, provided the committee with an overview of the
invoice approval and payment process.
