Legislative Update from Paul Bruckner regarding Sonya Massie Act which would require
stricter background checks for Law Enforcement hires.
REPORT FROM SHERIFFS OFFICE
a.
Sheriffs office requests promotional exam testing be scheduled for Law Enforcement
Sergeants and Lieutenants. A preliminary date of February 28, 2026 may be a possibility.
Sheriffs office requested all further Corrections testing be done in person and would like to set
up the next Corrections exam. Merit Commission to set forth some dates.

Commissioner Gravina moved and Chairman Reyes seconded the motion to enter into Executive
Session. Roll Call Vote: All ayes.

appointment,compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee,
one-on-one interviews.
The Commission entered into Executive Session at 8:46a.m.
The Commission returned to Open Session at 10:08a.m.

Candidates 3018, 2511, 3025, were not certified.
