The meeting was called to order by Chairman Reyes at 8:32a.m.

Ms. Johnson presented the current Revenues and Expenditures Report.  
a.1. Approve purchasing new laptop for Merit Commissions assistant.  
Chairman Reyes made the motion and Commissioner Gravina seconded the purchase of a new  
laptop for Merit Commission Assistant.

Ms. Johnson presented the current status of candidates in the testing and certification process.

payable list.

NEW BUSINESS  
a.  
Legislative Update from Paul Bruckner regarding Sonya Massie Act which would require  
stricter background checks for Law Enforcement hires.  
REPORT FROM SHERIFFS OFFICE  
a.  
Sheriffs office requests promotional exam testing be scheduled for Law Enforcement  
Sergeants and Lieutenants. A preliminary date of February 28, 2026 may be a possibility.  
Sheriffs office requested all further Corrections testing be done in person and would like to set  
up the next Corrections exam. Merit Commission to set forth some dates.

EXECUTIVE SESSION  
Commissioner Gravina moved and Chairman Reyes seconded the motion to enter into Executive  
Session. Roll Call Vote: All ayes.  
a.  
Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act for the  
appointment,compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee,  
one-on-one interviews.  
The Commission entered into Executive Session at 8:46a.m.  
The Commission returned to Open Session at 10:08a.m.

MATTERS TO BE REFERRED FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION (IF ANY)  
a.  
Action on the certification of candidates subject to one-on-one interviews on September  
18, 2025.  
Chairman Reyes moved and Commissioner Gravina seconded the motion to certify  
Corrections Candidates 3012,3021, and 3026  
Candidates 3018, 2511, 3025, were not certified.

Chairman Reyes moved and Commissioner Gravina seconded the motion to adjourn.
